Lake Lure

Lake Lure is a beatuiful lake nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Located about 16 miles from Maple Ridge RV Park. It has been a filming location for scenes from the movies Thunder Road, Dirty Dancing, A Breed Apart, The Last of the Mohicans and Firestarter.

Chimney Rock State park offers Hiking for all levels, Rock Climbing, Mountain Biking and many other activities. From the top of Chimney Rock, there are spectacular views of Lake Lure and Hickory Nut gorge.
